What makes sourdough different from regular bread?
Sourdough is naturally leavened, which means it rises without commercial yeast. Instead, it uses a fermented mixture of flour and water (called a starter) to naturally develop rise, flavor, and texture. It takes time — and that’s what makes it special!
Is sourdough easier to digest?
Yes! Thanks to the long fermentation process, much of the gluten and phytic acid in the flour breaks down, making it gentler on digestion for many people. It also creates that signature tangy flavor we all love.
How long does your bread stay fresh?
Our sourdough stays fresh for about 3–4 days at room temperature. It can be frozen for longer storage — just wrap it tightly and pop it in the freezer. To refresh, warm in the oven for 10 minutes at 350°F.
Do you bake everything yourself?
Absolutely! Every loaf, roll, and sweet at LILO Sourdough Creations is handcrafted in small batches in our cottage bakery kitchen. No shortcuts, no commercial yeast — just time, care, and great ingredients.

Are any of your products dairy-free or vegan?

A cottage bakery is a licensed home-based bakery that operates under specific state food laws. It means our products are made in a private home kitchen, inspected by the health department — made with the highest care, quality ingredients, and love.
